Every year, up to a thousand children visit St Asaph Cathedral as part of the School Visits Programme. Through workshops and exploration they learn about its history and purpose and about life and worship at the Cathedral today.
The emphasis of the workshops is participation, experience and discovery. The precise nature of each workshop will depend on the volunteer leading on the day. However if there are particular things you would like included, please let us know. A Teacher’s Resource Pack is provided at the end of your visit.
Organising your visit – what to do
Contact us to discuss what you would like to achieve through your visit (contact details on the right).
School visits are available on Tuesdays during term time, through the medium of English or Welsh
Pre-book your visit via The Diocesan Office by phone or by sending through a School Visit booking form (MS Word file, 293k)
What will it cost?
The charge is £2.50 per pupil.
How many children can we bring?
Pupils are usually divided into groups of 10; we are able to accommodate up to 50 children at one time. We suggest larger schools make several visits.
Can we bring very young children? What about High School pupils?
St Asaph Cathedral school visits are open to all age groups. For KS1 a morning visit is recommended. For KS 1-4 pupils your school visit will be personalised to your requirements.
What subjects are covered by the Workshops?
We have a wide range of topics available. See the Workshops page for a list of the workshops currently available.
